New Hostess 10 Club

This post will stay at the top of this blog. Please scroll down to see the more recent postings.

Wow, the new catalogue is amazing!! Not long till I can share it with you all. In preparation, and as promised a while ago, I am hoping to start a new Hostess 10 club in October.

There are lots more details on the separate Hostess 10 page, just click the tab at the top of my blog, but I'll try and sum it up quickly.

I need 10 people to commit to spending at least £15 per month, for 10 months. Every month one of you will get the FREE hostess goodies on a rota system. Remember, from October the hostess scheme changes and you will get £25 to spend on anything you want from the catalogue, for FREE. You can make your £25 go further by spending it on hostess only stamp sets, which you will get at a preferential rate.

Now not only will you get these FREE goodies, but you will also get a FREE catalogue worth £5.95. The catalogue does not just show you all the great products but it also has lots and lots of examples of beautiful projects which you can copy. I think it's much better than last year's.

So, why not use the club to build up your collection of punches, inks, stamps, papers or anything at all you want. Many people spend this money on craft goodies anyway, so why not get £25 worth of freebies too.

If you would like a place, please let me know as soon as possible. 4 places have gone already so don't hesitate.

I'm not allowed to show you any pictures of the new products yet, so here's a picture of some of the free hostess sets I've earned recently. As a demonstrator not only do I get a discount, I also earn free stuff. Contact me if you want to know more. x

Next class - Box Pictures September 28th

Good morning everyone. I'm very excited about the next class I have to offer. We will be making boxed pictures, like the one in the photo. (I'm not sure what to call it really) I won this kit in a raffle which was run by my upline Victoria and I loved making this. The cost of the class is £12 as usual and you will get the chance to play with all my stamps, inks, punches etc. Quite a few of these products are retiring at the end of September so this may be the last chance you get to use them. Here is my effort:

It's not the best photo as it was difficult to get the photo without the light reflecting off the glass. If you want to book your place on this class, please let me know as soon as possible as places are going soon. You get to choose your colour scheme but I will need to know what colour you would like, and receive payment before the 18th of September. This gives me time to order all the supplies. The box picture frame is also included in the class price.

Here are a few close ups showing some of the detail:

I am particularly pleased with these roses made with the scallop circle punch. This is my first attempt at doing this and I was very happy with the result:

I am also very pleased with myself as I have discovered how to upload pictures onto blogger, quickly. It used to take ages for each photo to upload and I would have to get up early so I could do it before work. Now I have discovered how to do it much more quickly - so you'll be seeing more photos on my blog.

Not only that but this morning I discovered I could easily do a collage. How great is that!! So here you go- my first collage.(Although it doesn't look that different from the finished picture)  It's amazing the things that will keep me happy. Have a good day and contact me if you would like to book a place. There are more details on the classes tab at the top of the blog. x

Christmas in September

Hi Everyone, I know some of you have been wanting to see photos of the Christmas class which is happening on Wednesday. Unfortunately the class is now full but I am planning to hold an all day Christmas class in November, so check back for final details. I’m hoping to finalise the arrangements this week.
This is what we’ll be making on Wednesday:

The gorgeous Jolly Holiday papers are retiring in September and they are actually sold out now. Luckily I had enough for the class. However, you can make these cards just as easily with the new Christmas papers coming out on 1st October. They are lovely, so check back on the 1st October when I’ll post a link to the new catalogue, or order your copy now – see the button on the side bar.

Here are some close-ups of the cards. The stamp set Contempto Christmas is only £15.95 for the wooden set or £12.95 for the clear set. It’s a very versatile set and has a matching Ornament punch so making cards, gift boxes, tags and all sorts of decorations couldn’t be easier.

The Christmas tree branch was stamped with the Lovely as a Tree stampset and here you can see the 3D effect of the baubles after I punched them out with the ornament punch.

Here's the next one. I used the Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder on the background after I cut it with My Big Shot, using the Top Note die.

Here are some close ups of the embossing done with the Vintage Wallpaper folder.

I used the fabulous mini milk carton die in the Big Shot to make this cute little container. These make great gift boxes or can be filled with sweets, chocolates etc. I love these and they are so easy so we'll probably making lots of these in future projects.

I used the 5 petal Flower Punch to make the poinsettia.

If you want to make any of these projects yourself, contact me for the supplies you need or join me in another Christmas class later in the year. Take care. x

Happy Anniversary

It was my wedding anniversary yesterday but generally we don't take these things too seriously, so I didn't bother making a card until the morning, when I had 15 mins before going to work! I did think of just buying one but just couldn't bring myself to do it.

I has seen several examples of this card on various blogs and decided it was just the thing. Here it is:

I used the Designer Paper Stacks in various shades of  red and pink and punched them out using the Modern Label punch. I folded them in half and stamped the letters using the Just Perfect Alphabet. I then used the Timeless Type Junior Alphabet dies and the Big Shot to cut the letters 'I' and 'U'. The sentiment is from the Something to Celebrate hostess set - remember you only have till the end of September to have a party to earn this set. After that, it will not be seen again, so if you want it, contact me ASAP to book your party. The base for the card is in Crumb Cake.

Now if you think I'm bad, you should talk to my husband. As I said we don't take this too seriously so when he phoned from the supermarket saying "do you know how much cards are?!!" I told him I would much rather have £5 towards a stamp, than a card I will throw away.  (He'd already bought me some crafting supplies).

When I got home from work, there were lots of flowers and a handmade envelope. Inside was a card he had 'adapted'. He had found the birthday card he'd given me in July and altered it to be an anniversary card. He'd found a border punch and punched some white card which he used to cover the 'Happy Birthday' and then used the same stamp as I had used for the sentiment. (It was still on my desk). He drew a heart and glittered it and stuck a sheet of paper over the inside and stamped the sentiment again. This is the result:

Not bad for a novice eh? I think it's much better than any bought card and I get a new stamp:) Anyway, enough of my ramblings. Remember to contact me if you want anything from the retired list or mini catalogue. Not long now till you get to see the new one.... x

Thank you, from Felix

Hi All, I thought I would show you a card made with a soon to retire product - the xxxx jumbo wheel. I love this wheel and am a bit gutted that it is going, as I've only just got it. It's so handy for 'New Home' cards and goes really well with the 'All in the family' stampset.

As you know, we went on holiday in the summer, but what you don't know is that we have a very demanding cat called 'Felix'. He constantly wants attention; treats; someone to stroke his tummy; running water out of the tap - you get the picture. So when we go away on holiday, we like someone to come and stay in the house to look after Felix. This year  a lovely girl that I work with, volunteered to stay. This is the card I made her to say 'Thank you'

I stamped the Neighbourhood wheel in black onto watercolour paper, and then coloured it in using my ink pads and an aqua painter. I am absolutely no expert when it comes to watercolouring (as you can tell) and my houses seem to have a definite lean to them, but I had fun colouring. I stamped the cat image from 'All in the family' onto a separate piece of whisper white, layered it with a basic black scalloped circle, and coloured the cat to look a bit like Felix. He's got the same silly expression on his face!

The greeting with stamped in black using  the Sincere Salutations stamp set. This set will also be around next year which is great news as I use it lots.

I have made my daughter a card using this same wheel as she's just moved into a new flat. so I'll show you that later in the week. Don't forget if you want any products on the retirement list, let me know ASAP as they are selling out fast. See you soon. x

Last Chance List

It's been a very exciting Stampin' Up day today. The last chance list has been published and you can find it here

These products will soon sell out so get them while you can. Many products in the mini catalogue can also only be ordered till September 30th, so get them while you can.

I will be placing an order on September 10th, so if you would like to take advantage of free postage and packing, contact me before the 10th and I will add your order to my order. If you want to be absolutely sure of not missing out on anything, then I can place your order as soon as I get it; you pay P&P and it will be sent directly to your address. Just let me know what you want to do.

If there are hostess sets that you really like, again this is your last chance to earn them. Contact me about having a party at your house with your friends, and you could earn yourself that hostess set you’ve had your eye on all year. The party will have to take place during September, so don’t delay.

Enjoy looking through this list and contact me as soon as you can to make sure you don't miss out on all these lovely goodies. x
