By the Tide

Hi everyone, I have been absent for so long, I bet you've forgotten me. I've been on holiday and although I had lots of projects and photos prepared to show you, while I was away, I didn't get round to sorting it. We had very dodgy internet acces while away, so you ended up with nothing!!

I'm going to try and make it up to you by showing you all the things I had prepared, over the next few weeks.

This card uses the By The Tide stamp set which is in the new catalogue. I did a class with this set this week so will post those projects too, over the next few days. Although this one says Father's Day, you can obviously make it for any occassion.

I gold embossed the coral behind the 3D shapes. You can see it better here:

The block of colour which creates the background was done by inking a clear stamp block, all over, with Crumb Cake ink and then spritzing it with water, and using it as a stamp. Once it dries it leaves a lovely, 'textured' background.

I even stamped the insert:

and the envelope:

I hope you like this. I will show you the other By The Tide projects soon. x

Best of Everything Gift Set

Good morning, today I am showing you some projects we made in card class in May. I'm so behind with blogging that I didn't get a chance to show them to you in advance.
In this class we made a gift box, containing 4 cards which were made with the  Best Of Everything stamp set. I love this set. It's clean and modern and looks great in any colour.

We used some retired Designer Papers in this class but obviously you can use any designer papers you like. The cardstock colours are: Wisteria Wonder, Lucky Limeade and Calypso Coral. Here are the 4 cards:

And here's the box. We made the rosette on the Simply Scored board, and made the insert for the clear box:

Here are all of the projects together. I'm sorry the picture quality isn't better but I took these photos very late at night. x

Class projects 5th June

Hi everyone, the next class on 5th June is a little bit different because you can choose your projects. You can either make Masculine cards similar to this one:

or you can make 6 calendar inserts for the Desktop Calendar display case like this one, which we made for the first half of the year. In this class we will be making the inserts for July-December and if you don't have the display case already, this will be included in your class price:

If you would like to join us for this class, please contact me by Sunday 2nd June 6pm, to book your place.
I will be posting the rest of the other projects later on. x

Masculine Cards part 2

Hi Everyone, I have been so bad at blogging lately. I have no excuses. I want to show you the other projects we made in our Masculine Cards class. Although this class was some time ago, we haven't had Father's Day yet, so the projects are still very relevant.

I showed you the 2 cards we made in my last post. In this one, I will show you the decorated gift box and the gift card holder.

Here's the gift box:

These Kraft gift boxes are fantastic. You can transform them in so many ways and they are a great bargain at £2.75 for 4 boxes.

We also made this gift card holder. This fits on a bottle (a wine bottle is always good) and holds a gift card/voucher. These are a great way to jazz up giving a voucher which can be a bit boring. What do you think?

Here are all of the projects together:

Just look at the state of the garden! Luckily my husband was there, in the background, cutting the grass.

Although we had this class at the beginning of May, you have another chance to make these projects. In card class on Wed 5th June we will be making calendar inserts for the last 6 months of the year, following on from this class or you can choose to make masculine cards along similar lines to the ones posted here. If you are interested, please contact me as soon as possible. It's not too late for Father's Day. x

Masculine Cards - Class Wednesday 1st May

Hi everyone, apologies for being absent for a while. I've been away for a week and the internet cover wasn't as good as I had hoped, so no blogging. But, I'm back with a preview of what we will be making at our next class.
This class will cover all your Father's Day needs or the projects can be made for any man in your life. We will be making 2 cards, a gift box and a gift card holder. I can only share the 2 cards with you today as I'm waiting for some more supplies but hopefully this will inspire you to come and join us and make your own projects. Here's the first card:

I used the Clockworks stamp set and have loved playing with it in different colours. This card uses Crazy Cajun, Early Espresso and So Saffron ink. In the other projects, I changed the So Saffron ink for More Mustard as I wanted it to stand out a bit more. This card was pretty easy - I was going for the Clean and Simple Look. Here's a close up:

The next one is very similar but I stepped it up a bit using some 3D pads to raise images and I also used some small silver brads. This time I included Not Quite Navy Ink instead of the Crazy Cajun, and turned it into a birthday card:

And the close up:

Which colour scheme do you prefer? I couldn't decide, so for the gift box and the gift card holder I used all of them. I will have to show you those later though, once my Kraft gift boxes have arrived from Stampin' Up.

If you fancy having a go at these projects then please contact me (07970 708348 or mapleleafstampin@yahoo.co.uk) to book your place. Cost is £12 and includes everything you need to complete these projects. I'll be back soon to show you the other 2 projects. x
