Fly away butterflies....

Hi everyone, today's card show cases some of the retiring products. Both the stamp set Flight of the Butterflies and the butterfly punch are going. Here's a reminder of how lovely these products are:

 

To make this card I used a Colour Q colour challenge. You can sign up to this and every week you get a photo which has inspired a colour combination. I've never used these prompts before and they may be quite old as they use a colour that is no longer available, Bermuda Bay (I decided it was similar to Pool Party) Here's the original photo:

 

 

As I've already said I used the Flight of the Butterfly stamp set and matching punch. I also used the Sincere Salutations stamp set for the greeting. This set is also being retired which is a big loss as I use it all the time.

Here are the flowers which were punched using the Boho Blossom punch, which is staying:

 

 

The background shapes were cut using the Big Shot and the Framelits Labels Collection. Here's a closer look:

Butterfly Cards

Hi all, these are the cards we made to fit into the box. I don't think they need much explanation, I'm sure you can work out how to make these. They were all based on Jenny Moors designs.

As before, the colours are Always Artichoke, River Rock, Not Quite Navy, Baja Breeze and Whisper White. The stamp set is Flight of the Butterfly.

Butterfly class - the box

Hi all, well it was card class last night and we made 4 cards and a 'pizza' box' to keep them in. This would make a great gift for someone. We used the Flight of the Butterfly stamp set and Paisley Petals Designer Papers. This is what the box looked like:



I used Always Artichoke card for the box itself and the belly band is made out of Whisper White and Not Quite Navy with a strip of designer paper down the middle. The edges have been punched using the Eyelet Border Punch.

The butterfly has been stamped with Baja Breeze and Marina Mist and punched with  the matching Butterfly punch. The circle is punched from River Rock card stock. I often use 'stamens' as the antenae. You used to be able to get these for silk flowers etc but I haven't been able to get them lately. You may have more luck.

So here is what is in the box. I'll give you the details in another post. Keep looking. x

Butterfly Class 11th January

Hi everyone, I just wanted to remind you all that card classes start again on Wednesday 11th Jan 7.00-9.30pm, at my house. I am going to ease us in gently and we'll be using the fabulous Paisley Petals designer papers and the Flight of the Butterflies stamp set. Here are a couple of sneaky previews:

The Paisley Petals Designer papers have 11 colours in them. This means you can match it with lots of different colours of cardstock to get very different looks. We'll be matching it with Marina Mist and Baja Breeze for 1 colour scheme, and Always Artichoke and River Rock for the other. Here is one of the completed cards we'll be making:

Fair goodies

Hi all, as promised, here are some of the things I made for the Octoberfest event I went to on Saturday. Not all of the products used are Stampin' Up! but most of them are.


Here are some Gift Card holders made using the Flight of the Butterfly stampset:

Some Candy Corn Halloween sweety bags, using the Top Note Die to make the topper:

Here is one of the Post-it Note Holders, using the Daisy Big Shot die. These were very popular and soon sold out. Luckily I still had this one at home so I could take a picture:

And a close up of the pencil boxes with erasers. This isn't a great picture as the light is reflecting off the plastic bag (that's what happens when you leave your husband to take the photos) I would have taken them out of the bag. People really liked these for children's party bags and I'm busy making 35 of these for someone.

Lastly, some gift boxes using the Mini Milk Carton Big Shot die. I filled some of them with bubble gum and stamped one of the images from the Every Little Bit stamp set, on the tag.

Fly Away Butterflies

Actually I wasn't sure what to call this post, so excuse the corny title. I ended up cancelling the butterfly card class which should have been tonight, so I thought I would give all of you a look at what we would have made:

 

  I love these cards, and I will probably hold the class at a later date BUT the list of products which will be 'retiring' is published tomorrow, and usually all of the design papers retire, so if you want these gorgeous speciality papers, called Blueberry Crisp, you've only got until the end of September to order them. All the retiring products will be sold at a reduced price, so check my blog for details tomorrow, to get a bargain.

If you're on my email distribution list, I will send you the list by email. If you would like to go on my email list, please let me know. For these cards I used Not Quite Navy, Sahara Sand, Soft Suede and Very Vanilla cardstock.

I used the Flight of the Butterfly stamp set with Tempting Turquoise and Not Quite Navy inks

I also used the Butterfly punch, the Scallop Circle and the 1 3/8" Circle punches. For the border we would have used the Eyelet border punch but at the time I made these samples, I didn't have that punch yet, so I used one of my other punches.

I used the pillow box die and the Big Shot to make this cute little pillow box:

The ribbon is the very soft seam binding ribbon in the colour Crumb Cake. You can see how lovely it is in the next two photos.

I hope you've enjoyed these cards. I must just add that these were not my original idea but I got the tutorial from Jenny Moors' site. I just changed the Designer papers and colours slightly.

Sneak preview - Butterfly Stamping class August 31st

Hi everyone, Well I managed to get my supplies yesterday and was up past midnight creating the samples for the butterfly class. Remember this is only meant to be a 'sneak preview' so you're not seeing the projects in their full detail. Here's your teaser:

We will be using the Blueberry Crisp Designer papers. These are absolutely gorgeous - so much better in real life, than in the catalogue, and they work out very reasonable at 73p for each double sided 12" x 12" sheet . I've matched these papers with Not Quite Navy, Sahara Sand, Soft Suede and Very Vanilla cardstock and Crumb Cake Seam Binding ribbon. So, If blues are your thing, or butterflies or just really pretty cards, come and join us on the 31st. I will post pictures of the cards in more details after the class, but here's a photo of the pillow box, just to whet your appetite:
