Candle and Card set

Apologies for not having posted anything for a while. I've just been really busy and have had etiher no time to craft or I've just been too tired - hard to believe, I know.

Anyway, I work for the local council and lots of people are leaving at the moment because of the spending cuts. This means a lot of my friends are leaving and the only good thing about this, is that I have an excuse to make lots of cards and gifts.

I've made this candle and card set a few times (before I had a blog), so thought I would show you this. Most items are from Stampin' Up!, but not the main butterfly image.

Here is the card, matching envelope and candle. This picture has a horrible blue tint to it, that I couldn't seem to correct:

Here's a close up of the card and then  the candle.

And the last picture, showing the inside. I love stamping the inside of cards, and I used the same  butterfly image again.

I used rose red, pretty in pink and white whisper cardstock; rose red and pretty in pink ink; baroque motifs stamp set and basic pearls to decorate. The butterfly stamp was one from a set I bought in America. The 3D butterfly was stamped on vellum and heat embossed using irridescent embossing powder. I cut down some pearl dressmaking pins, with pliers, to fasten them to the candle.

Sadly I'll be making lots of leaving cards this week so should have more to show you soon.x
