Lovely Lace Class Wednesday 20th August

Hi everyone, this is very last minute but here is a photo of the projects we're making in card class this week. I've had trouble taking the photos as my camera battery is nearly dead and I can't find the charger anywhere. Then there was added interference from the cat - you can see what I mean as I've added those photos too. So this is what we'll be making:

There is a gift bag with a matching card, 2 other cards and even the envelopes were embossed. All of the embossing was done using the Big Shot and the Lovely Lace embossing folder. The class is £12 as usual so please contact me if you want to join us on 07970 708348. It's not too late.

For those of you who haven't seen the fantastic Big Shot offer for the month of August click HERE to check it out. if you buy a Big Shot in August, you get a free Framelits and matching stamp set. This makes the Big Shot less than £50 and therefore an absolute bargain. If you're interested then don't delay. You can order through my on-line STORE

And, as promised, here is Felix the cat, interfering with me taking my photos. He doesn't usually jump on my desk but today was obviously an exception.

I'll be back soon with more detailed photos of these projects. Hope you like them. x

Cascade Card Class - Wednesday 23rd July 2014

Hi everyone. The next card class is on Wednesday 23rd July, so not much notice this time. I have been asked to do a class on Cascade Cards and I was also asked to make the tic tic holders, which we have made previously.

So, this is what I came up with:

I have gone for the rustic look, so if you like this project, please join us on Wednesday. The class will be held on Wednesday 23rd July, 7.00-9.30pm, at my house in West Bridgford.

Cost will be £12 as usual and includes everything you need except adhesives. As I'll be teaching you how to make this card, it would be useful if you had a trimmer with a score blade. if you don't have one of these, don't worry, you can use one of mine.

If you want to join us please contact me by email or phone before Tuesday 22nd July 6pm.

Project Life - at long last

Hi everyone, I'm busy working on my Project Life pages so I can show you the finished article but I'm not quite ready yet so I thought I would show you the products. If you don't know what I'm talking about then you're in for a treat because Project Life is a really easy way to scrapbook your photos.

You don't need loads of papers or embellishments and you won't be intimidated by a blank 12 x12 page (as I always was). You can just slot your photos into divided photo pocket pages, add some cards and do some journaling or, if you want, you can be as creative as you want by adding elements, doodling, creating your own cards etc. The choice is yours. I'm going to show you the Everyday Adventure collection for now.

This is how the cards are packaged. They come in this lovely box which keeps them safe and you get 100 cards in 3 sizes - 4" x 6", 3"x 4"and 4"x 4". All the cards are double sided.

Here's a photo of some of the 6" x 4" cards:

Here are some of the 4" x 4" cards:

And finally, the 3" x 4" cards. There are lots of these so I can only give you a flavour really:

This is one of the stamp sets, which Stampin' Up! have developed to coordinate with Project Life. I was lucky enough to win this at a Stampin' Up! event and I think this set has potential for cards too. The set is called Remember This and these stamps are photopolymer which means they are clear - yes, see-through clear, which is great when stamping onto your project life cards.

The last thing to show you is the Accessory Pack. This is the Everyday Adventure accessory pack and it coordinates with the Everyday Adventure cards:

As you can see you get stencils, stickers, embellishments, washi tape, clips, letters etc. Here's a close up:

If you haven't looked at the new catalogue yet, have a look. There are various collections with different colour schemes. The cards are only £13.50 and the accessory packs are only £8.95. We also have the photo pocket pages, albums and other accessories. Project Life is mentioned throughout the catalogue but all the details start on page 188.

I will soon have some special classes using project life so please keep an eye on my blog for the details. xx

Hi everyone, Wow only 2 days to go till the new catalogue goes live. Are you excited? There are fabulous new products designed to appeal to everyone - young and old, experienced crafters and newbies, card makers and scrapbookers.

Today I'm going to give you a bit of a preview of the new In-Colours. These colours will only be around for 2 years and we will be using them in the next class. This class will be held on Wednesday 9th July, 7.00-9.30pm in West Bridgford.

This is what we'll be making - 5 cards and a lovely box to keep them in:

The new colours (from left to right) are: Mossy Meadow, Tangelo Twist, Lost Lagoon, Blackberry Bliss and Hello Honey. I made my box using the Envelope Punch Board and Hello Honey. Please note that your box may be a different colour.

We will also be using my favourite Petite Petals stamp set, the Petite Petals Punch and the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set.

The cost of the class is £12 as usual and if you fancy a play with the new colours, why not contact me to book your place. You can contact me on 07970 708348 or mapleleafstampin@yahoo.co.uk.

Hardwood Banner Blues

Hi everyone, in our last class we used the Hardwood background stamp. I wasn't sure about this stamp until I saw all the wonderful cards various people had made with it. Now I love it and the class was very popular.

This is the first card I'm going to show you:

The banner stamp set was one of the Sale-A-Bration sets this year (yes, I know - I'm a bit slow getting round to using it). Luckily the matching punch is still available and you could achieve the same results using patterned papers:

The Hardwood stamp was stamped in Night of Navy ink onto Marina Mist cardstock. The base card is Night of Navy. The sentiment is from Label Love and was punched using the matching Artisan Label punch. The Night of Navy Label was cut using one of the Apothecary Accents Framelits and this is my new favourite ways to put together a greeting:

I love this card and it can be used for so many occasions and would also make a great card for men. Hope you like it too. xx

Fabulous You - Coloured shoe

Good morning everyone. This is the last card we made using the Fabulous You set. This was quite fiddly to colour in but worth the effort, I think:

We stamped the shoe twice so we could cut out some of the flowers to use them to frame the sentiment:

We also used a bit of glitter which you can hopefully see in the photo above. The inside of the card was stamped with another shoe and butterfly:

And here is a close up of the coloured-in shoe. You can see we cut out the butterfly and gave it a glittery flight path:

I hope you have enjoyed the 3 versions of the same shoe stamp. Remember you can only get this set while stocks last, and only until the 30th June. It won't be in the new catalogue so if you like it, don't miss out. It's only £9.95 for the clear set and £13.95 for the wooden set.
I'll be back soon with something different. x

Wedding Shoe

Hello again everyone. This is the second card we made and this one is much more subtle which is why I made it into a wedding card:

This time we stamped the shoe and the butterfly background in Versamark ink and embossed it using satin embossing powder (not Stampin' Up'). I am making a real effort to use up some retired products so unfortunately the DSP is no longer available. The greeting is from a lovely set of sentiments called A Dozen Thoughts. We used a fork to make a bow out of Crumb Cake seam binding:

Here's another close up of the embossing:

Check back soon for the last card, which will be a more colourful version of the shoe. x

Fabulous You - Red card

Hi everyone, where does time go? I've not blogged for ages and have lots to catch up on and show you. I'm going to show you the cards we made in a class a while ago, using the Fabulous You stamp set. This is the first card:

The image was stamped and embossed with black embossing powder. The plain red card was embossed using an embossing folder, and the Polka Dot Parade designer paper was added with a black bow (These papers are also retiring). Simple but effective I hope you'll agree. We did add some glitter to the flowers on the shoe which I've tried to show in this close up although it is difficult to see:

The stamp set comes with this lovely greeting and the small butterfly, which we used on the inside:

This set will be retiring so if you like the cards I'm showing you, please make sure you go to my website www.mapleleafstampin.stampinup.net to order yours before they are sold out.

Back in a few days to show you another card using this set. x

Spiral Rose Tea Light Box

Hi everyone, this is the last project from the Spiral Rose class. A lovely little gift box:

I found the instructions for making this box on Pootles Papercraft Blog and you can find them here. I just love her work, especially all the boxes. Here's a close up of the roses:

I hope you like these projects. If you would like to buy the Spiral Flower die, you can do so here in my on-line shop or give me a call on 07970 708348. It's only £15.95 and these roses have loads of uses. I'll be back soon with a different project. x

Spiral Rose Card

Good morning, this is the card we made with the Spiral Flower die:

I used Baked Brown Sugar as the base and Primrose Petals and Raspberry Ripple for the roses. I embossed Very Vanilla cardstock with the Script embossing folder but unfortunately that is no longer current (I didn't realise this until after I'd used it) I find these roses are much easier to make if you spritz them with a little water before rolling them up, and then use a hot glue gun. That way they stick immediately. Here's a close up:

Hope like this. Next time I'll show you a matching box which holds tea lights. x

Spiral Rose Gift Bag

Good morning, here are some more detailed photos of the projects we made in The Spiral Flower Class a while ago. This was the gift bag we made:

We took a plain brown bag and decorated it by cutting 2 banners from the Designer Paper Stacks (I'm still using the old style paper stacks) We then made 2 roses using the Spiral Flower die and a smaller bud by using half a spiral. The leaves were cut using the Little Leaves Sizzlets die. Here are some close up of the roses:

I'll show you the other projects soon. x

Hi everyone, in the next class we will be using the Tag Topper punch. The class will be held at my house in West Bridgford from 7.00-9.30pm and this is what we'll be making:

This punch is extremely versatile. You can use it for much more than just tags as you can see from the picture above. In the class we will be making a tag, 2 cards and a gift box.

The cost for this class is only £12 and includes everything you need to make all of these projects, except adhesives.

Cadbury's cream eggs in a clear box

Happy Easter to all of you. I thought I would show you these Cadbury's cream eggs in their clear boxes.

I cannot claim any credit for this at all. I saw these on Pootles Papercrafts' blog here and I just wanted to have a go. The colours used are Daffodil Delight, Real Red and Elegant Eggplant. The 'spiral' that the egg sits in is made using the Spiral Flower die. If you follow the link above you will get full instructions.

And a close up:

Check back tomorrow for details of my next class. x

Easter card

Hi everyone. This is the Easter card we made in our Easter class. for some reason this photo has turned out very 'blue' so apologies.

There was very little stamping on this card. We used the Petite Petals punch to make the flowers and one of the Itty Bitty Punch Pack flowers to make the centres. The Little Leaves Sizzlets die was used for, guess what, the leaves. The oval was embossed using the one of the Designer Frames embossing folders. Here's a close up:

And a close up of the bow:

All the products can be found in my on-line store here. I'll be back soon to show you the other products we made. x
